Blymier Wedding Recap

Hey, hey, hey! How’s everyone’s week so far?

Mike and Eric DJ’ed the celebration of Mickey and Dana Blymier on Saturday at the BEAUTIFUL Moonstone Manor in Elizabethtown!

Eric went to college with Dana and when it came time to choose her DJ, she said she remembered the time at Millersville when Eric DJ’ed the Communications Department’s annual student party known as the Comm Prom. That, plus word-of-mouth and seeing Eric’s posts about DJ’ing solidified Mickey and Dana’s choice for their DJ.

We’re so glad she chose us to DJ her reception – we got to experience an amazing venue we’ve never worked before, worked with some awesome vendors, and of course Dana and Mickey were a complete pleasure throughout the entire process!

One thing was clear right off the bat during our meetings: Mickey and Dana wanted a fun party. Dana was on the dance team at Millersville and Eric knew she wanted to have a dance party short of a straight up night club feel!

The evening started with some nerves from the catering staff, and frankly us too. It poured buckets while we were getting ready under the tent; there was thunder and some wind that had us worried. Luckily, the tent had walls that could be closed and the rain did not escalate beyond just some short-lived showers.

Mike and Eric have experience with rain and wedding days: it POURED on Mike’s wedding day and Eric’s wedding day had some drizzles throughout the afternoon. We reassured Dana that rain on the wedding day is definitely good luck!

Despite the clouds and rain, inside the tent, things were bright and cheery! The Blymiers had chosen grays and yellows for their wedding colors – the yellows definitely stood out and brightened things up. They had big floral centerpieces at various tables; others had little birdcages with yellow roses within. Their favors were glass bottles of homemade lemonade!

Besides the décor, Dana definitely brightened the room with her beautiful wedding gown and her bright smile! Mickey and Dana were on cloud nine and their happiness quickly made everyone forget it was pouring just outside the tent.

After cocktail hour, we kicked off the reception with some fun intros of grandparents, parents, the cutest little flower girls and ring bearer, Mickey’s nephews, and quite possibly the cutest Boxer we’ve ever seen: Mickey and Dana’s honorary flower girl and furbaby, Bella!

Mickey and Dana danced to “All of Me” by John Legend for their first dance as the Blymiers – that song is so incredible and we love playing it at weddings.

After dinner, we opened up the dance floor for dancing – the Blymiers and their guests went strong until the end of the night. It was so much fun and we got to see Mickey and Dana having a great time and even being silly during Sisqo’s “Thong Song.” It was hilarious and to see a short video, check out what we posted to the #theblymiers2014 on Instagram!!

Mickey and Dana were truly a pleasure to work with along with their families and bridal party. The vendors we worked with were also top-notch.
