April 16th was a magical day for Amanda and Stephan – and we were very privileged to be a part of it. This is Mike recapping you on what I’m sure will end up being one of the most fun parties we’re going to have in 2016, and maybe beyond! From the get-go, Amanda and Stephan were easy to work with, laid back, and above all – looking for a GREAT TIME on their big day. She, like us, is a fellow Millersville Grad and our hearts always swell with pride when we get the chance to participate in a fellow alum’s wedding day.
The Booking House is a relatively newer venue in Manheim, PA. This was the first time that Eric and I had worked here, but we’d heard rave reviews about this place ever since it opened. The Booking House is an amazingly appointed venue, perfect for people who want a rustic feel but maybe not a barn… upscale but maybe aren’t looking to do it in a major hotel. The whole place just feels amazingly intimate and I can’t say enough good things about what a great environment it was for the Boyer’s reception.
Amanda and Stephan had the good fortune of not only being able to have a great venue, but they were also able to book some excellent vendors (us included). They’d enlisted the help of Jonnaysa Kirkham of Planned Perfection to serve as wedding planners / event coordinators. Any bride that gets Jonnaysa’s help is truly lucky indeed. On top of that, Jeremy Bischoff Photography was also on the scene, capturing the moments and the great times. We love working with both of them and it felt like an assembling of the all-stars!
Amanda and Stephan wanted to their reception, including the cocktail hour, to have a very *upbeat* feel. She mentioned at every point along the way that she wanted people to be happy to be there, and if we had to err on the side of happy music over slower and romantic music, we should do that. I had a lot of fun putting together their cocktail list, in particular. There were a lot of songs on there that we don’t get to play all that often, and judging by the group’s reaction and how well everyone was mingling, we knocked it out of the park.
When the party moved from the downstairs cocktail hour location to the upstairs, main ballroom, the guests were treated to a simply stunning room. Every detail was in place; everywhere you looked – it was arresting how beautiful the space was.
We give a lot of this credit not only to Amanda and Stephan for having such good taste in decor, but also to Jonnaysa Kirkham with Planned Perfection, who undoubtedly played a huge role in the process, and most definitely in the execution. We always love when we get the chance to work with her and her team – they’re top notch, for sure.
Dinner was amazing, and the songs that they’d picked for that created an upscale ambiance that matched the space and the decor perfectly. Notes of rat pack, contemporary love songs, and favorites from every generation helped create an atmosphere that people enjoyed.
When it came time to open up the dance floor, it was a classic ProVolve Party. We created dancetimes that spanned all eras, all genres, and specifically ended on a high note as we were able to throw back to some pretty classic dance jams that our generation particularly appreciates.
The Boyers and their guests had an amazing time with us, Jonnaysa, and Jeremy at The Booking House and we wished you all could have been there. Here’s to the newlyweds, and best wishes in the future. Stay tuned, more wedding recaps are coming up this and next week – busy season is heating up!
