Diclosure’s album, Caracal (Deluxe), is 15 tracks of pure buttery, velvety, warm chocolate, thumpy vibes. It’s like biting into the most mouth-watering flavors you can imagine. If Daft Punk, Barry White, Prince, Marvin Gaye, Fiona Apple, and the 70s and 80s all got together and tossed in their music DNA into a mixture, you would bake up the delicious brownies that are the Disclosure brothers, Howard and Guy Lawrence.
Caracal features vocals from Sam Smith, Lorde, Gregory Porter, Kwabs, The Weeknd, NAO, Miguel, Jordan Rakei and Brendan Reilly. Each track stands on it’s own, I can’t get enough. The last time an album had me hooked like this, was Hot Fuss by The Killers. However, this album is beyond different and totally original and bold. The heavy rhythmic vibes of the bass and the smooth vocals all tell a story and lead you into an ear-gasm harmonic euphoria.
Caracal is my album of the year because for me, it is a nostalgic trip into a parallel universe where music is always good and evil is kept at bay. I highly recommend you listen to the album in one full sitting for the full experience. You will find yourself moving in new ways, and feeling full of life.
