Day 4 brings us the story of Mr. and Mrs. David and Kristen Canales!
Here is Kristen’s story of how David proposed:
David and I had met through mutual friends at a birthday get together. A year later our friends set us up at their wedding, and I will always be forever grateful for that.
We continued to date and I continually expressed my desire to marry him. One day we went to look at rings together and actually picked one out.
For months, I wondered when he would propose (every now and then I actually checked his dresser drawers to see if I would find “my ring”). I know, terrible right?
One night he took me to our favorite place in Lancaster called “Pour”. I didn’t think anything of it because we went there frequently and I told myself he would never propose in public.
After we finished dinner, I ordered dessert and David ordered a beer which was his signal to the waitress.
Then the owner brought over a gorgeous bouquet of asiatic lilies (which are my favorite).
At this point I was in pure shock and had no idea what was going on.
I glanced over to David and he was already down on one knee. He gave a beautiful speech, but I honestly missed most of it! I couldn’t stop thinking, “I can’t believe this is happening!”
I had tears running down my face and I couldn’t stop shaking. We both stood up, I kissed him, and hugged him so tight. It was the best proposal I could have ever imagined.
