Today we hear how Mr. and Mrs. Christian and Alison Kelly became engaged.
Here is Alison’s story:
Christian and I knew each other for many years before we fell in love. We always had mutual friends and Christian hung out with my brother often, but we just never really talked much. One night, we ran into each other at a local concert and reconnected, however I was getting ready to fly to London to study abroad for three months. That didn’t stop us from becoming best friends – we talked every day while I was away and even sent each other mail! When I came home to America, we went on our first date. We were having so much fun on our date that we just kept hanging out… for 12 hours. We went to the movies, spent hours talking in a coffee shop, and went to a local diner sometime past midnight. We connected so quickly and easily, and just loved spending time together. It was date one, of many!
Two years later, we got engaged. We were celebrating our two year anniversary (which happens to fall on Christmas Eve) at a local inn. We stayed up late wrapping gifts for our families and watching It’s a Wonderful Life. Sometime past midnight on Christmas Eve, we decided to exchange our Christmas stockings. At the bottom of mine was a small wrapped box with a bow on it. I unwrapped the box and quickly realized it was a ring box. I started crying and repeatedly saying, “What is this?! What is this?!” Christian got down on one knee and then I knew exactly what it was! We always say we are each other’s greatest Christmas gift.
Mike and Eric had the pleasure of working with the Kellys on October 6, 2013 at the Farm at Eagle’s Ridge in Lancaster County.
