Leon Bridges – Coming Home
Just a great album, front to back, of songs that remind me what was just so perfect about the type of music that made stars of Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and many others. I’m a big fan.
Murder Loves John
This is the character soundtrack to the hit BBC show Luther, with Idris Elba. It literally just came out last week, but it’s awesome and I can’t put it down. Not even if I tried.
Twenty One Pilots – Blurryface
I DJ’ed a wedding this past summer and this band made it onto the “Must Play” list and I had not really heard of them. I sat down and played a few songs off this album, and BOOM, I was hooked. Heavy and thoughtful lyrics with crushing musicality.
Alabama Shakes – Sound & Color
Brittany Howard is 1,000% amazing. She is so captivating and talented in everything she does. This band has so many sides to it. They can rock your face off and they can even melt your face off with a softer melodic tune or two.
Tuxedo – Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One
This album = dance music. 80ish, Funky, and down right groovy. Yep, I said groovy. Listen to this record and tell me your head doesn’t start bopping. Go ahead. I double dog dare ya.
