Knaub Wedding Recap

Saturday September 13, 2014 was one of those rare occasions where Mike and Eric split off to do their own gigs. Eric was in Columbia, PA at Prospect Valley Farm for the wedding and reception of Mr. and Mrs. David and Jessica Knaub. Here’s his recap of the Knaub wedding!

Background on the Couple
I went to high school with Jessica, but was referred by her sister Amy, with whom I graduated in 2003.

Jess and I met several times both on Skype and in person, and I realized Jess’s wedding would be a blast. Jess was an easy-going bride in the planning process, and was especially enjoyable to work with on her wedding day.

Location
This was the second time I have worked at Prospect Valley Farm. The venue is owned by the Kreider family, and the first time was for the daughter of the owners, Dana and her husband Justin Hess. That was in 2010, and I’m glad the location is growing and booking more gigs. (Note: I graduated with Dana from Warwick, also. Lots of Warwick connections recently!)

This is an 8 acre property off of Prospect Road in the Columbia area (near St. Anne’s Retirement Community).

There is a barn, a beautiful pond, and open space for ceremonies.

Ceremony

It rained for hours before the start of the outdoor ceremony. It really was down to the last minute that the rain held up and we proceeded with holding the ceremony in the field by the pond. The ceremony was beautiful (although it started misting right before) and Jess and Dave’s pastor did a fantastic job.

*For the Ceremony Playlist, see below.

Cocktail Hour
After the ceremony, everyone moved up the hill to the cocktail hour under the barn.

Dinner
Dave and Jess’s guests moved up into the barn for the dinner prior to the introductions, first dance, parent dances, toasts, welcome, blessing, and dinner!

Party
At the end of dinner, and after the cake cutting and dollar dance, I opened the dance floor. Dave and Jess’s guests went strong until the end of the night dancing to music from all eras!

The night ended with a nice mid to late 90s set that included N’Sync, Spice Girls, TLC, Notorious B.I.G., DJ Kool, Fatman Scoop, Ice Cube and then John Legend’s All of Me as the last dance!

Photographer
Another Warwick High School connection: Dave and Jess’s photographer was Ryan Hardy, a friend of mine from high school who I had broadcasting classes with back in the day!
