Lounder Recap 04/11/15

This weekend, Eric and I had the joy and honor of helping Erika and Joshua celebrate their big day at the Stolzfus Homestead in Intercourse area, PA. It’s a beautiful venue, the staff is amazing, and we just had an incredible time overall. Let’s dive right in and talk about what made their big day unforgettable.

Melissa Martin, of Stylish Occasions was the planner and event coordinator for Erica and Josh’s wedding, and she made sure the day went smooth, as always. We highly recommend her work, she definitely helps couples create the experience that they have in their minds when they get engaged.

When we originally met with Erika and Josh, they talked about how they met, the kind of music that they liked, and what kind of vibe they were going for on their wedding day. They said that there would be a lot of younger people there, and that they definitely wanted it to be an awesome party, but that they’d like to strike a more love/rustic/family kind of feel for the events and atmosphere leading up to the dancing.

We helped them with their ceremony and reception. They had a really awesome musician playing acoustic guitar during the cocktail hour, so they were covered for that. The ceremony went awesome, although it was definitely one of the windier ceremonies we’ve been a part of! Aside from the wind, the weather was absolutely gorgeous and I’m sure it made for incredible pictures for the photographer.

Their detail work, up to and including the Farmall Tractor that Josh has been working on restorting for some time, was impeccable. Their signs, their table decorations, and their favors were definitely true to Erika and Josh’s personality, and we always love it when couples really take the reigns on those kinds of details.

Dinnertime was a mix of love songs from the past few years, and Country love songs from the past few years. It made for an eclectic balance that we think we’ll use again when someone wants to mix in some contemporary country into some newer romantic music.

Special shout out to the Maid of Honor and Best Man – they delivered some of the best speeches I’ve heard in a long time. They seemed laid back, comfortable with a microphone, and struck a good balance between being funny and being touching. Outstanding toasts, 10/10, would listen to again.

When we opened up the dance floor, everyone brought their A-game and danced well up to the time we had to end. We definitely tossed in some of the more popular country dancing songs and country sing-along songs, and people loved it. We think that Erika and Josh just make the cutest couple and we know they’re going to have a great life together.

Special thanks to the staff at Stoltzfus Homestead for being so accomodating. They really seem like they’re on top of their game from an organization standpoint, and we look forward to working there again! See below for some more pictures and the dinner list that we used to make their mealtimes fit their personalities.
