On Saturday, June 25th, I (Declan) had the honor of spinning tunes at the Messimer (Chad & Claire) wedding in Lititz. Held at a private venue, a renovated church with a lot of history and character.

Chad and Claire are so laid back, and fun to be around. My wife and I even met up with them for taco night to talk about their big day. It was great getting to know them, learn how they met, and find out what they wanted their day to sound like. It was a blast, and the tacos were oh so gooooooood! (Seriously, hit up El Pueblito in Lancaster!)

After their ceremony, everyone was invited to the Bulls Head /Sutter Inn for the cocktail hour. That allowed some time for the room to flip over to the reception, and for me to get set up. An hour or so later, everyone was back and ready for introductions!

The beautiful couple were welcomed into the room with applause and jubilation that I felt like we were at a rock concert! Chad and Claire wanted me to invite everyone up to dance and sure enough, the dance floor was packed! What an entrance! I then politely asked everyone to clear the dance floor for their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Tenerife Sea.”

After toasts and dinner, we were off to the dance floor! I was sure to include a lot of hits both old and new. The floor went crazy when Chad and Claire entered the middle of the dance circle. We finished up with some classic rock hits that let everyone use their lungs. It was a great night, with a great bunch of people.

I’m grateful to have spent a day with Mr. & Mrs. Messimer and hope another taco night is not far off.
