“Outdoor wedding. 30% chance of rain. No problem!
The Sieling Wedding at Lauxmont Farms (Japanese Gardens) couldn’t have asked for a better day. Slightly cloudy at times but mostly sunny skies, with a nice breeze that was definitely welcome on a summer day!
I was really looking forward to this wedding, because the couple are just so laid-back and cool to talk to and they have great taste in music! I learned about some new artists and songs and as a DJ, you hope to know every artist and song, but it’s just not possible. So it’s refreshing to be nudged in one direction or another, and hear some new sounds and vibes.
Mumford & Sons – I will Wait
Lumineers – Ho Hey
Avett Brothers – January Wedding
Christina Perri – A Thousand Years
After the ceremony, the guests headed over to the cocktail hour in the japanese gardens, a beautiful location 10 yards away from the ceremony and reception tent. There were lawn games (corn hole, and croquet) and blankets and cafe-like tables and chairs.
Cocktail Hour Music:
Blind Pilot – We Are the Tide
The Civil Wars – I’ve Got A Friend
Barry Louis Polisar – All I Want Is You
Bright Eyes – We Are Nowhere And It’s Now
Paolo Nutini – Jenny Don’t Be Hasty
Local Natives – Wide Eyes
Monsters of Folk – The Right Place
The Shins – New Slang
The Civil Wars – 20 Years
Mumford & Sons – Winter Winds
Ray Lamontagne – You Are The Best Thing
Fleet Foxes – White Winter Hymnal
Ben Howard – Only Love
Town Mountain – Looking in the Mirror
Trampled by Turtles – Where in My Mind?

Of Monsters and Men – Little Talks
Emmylou – First Aid Kit
Jaymay – Gray or Blue
Florence & The Machines – Dog Days Are Over
John Denver – Take Me Home, Country Roads

Sam Morisson – Against the Wind
Eagles – Peaceful Easy Feeling
Neil Diamond – Hello Again
Magic – Rude
Ray Charles – I Can’t Stop Loving You
Otis Redding – Sittin’ On The Dock of the Bay
This was an especially fun wedding because of the location, the scenery, but most importantly, because it was a wonderful couple and their family and friends. You could really feel the love in that tent, 100% real and genuine. At 10:30, after a couple of hours of cutting up a rug, everyone headed 30 or so yards down the hill and enjoyed some s’mores at the fire pits. It was the perfect ending to a perfect wedding.
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Sieling, enjoy your honeymoon in Bali and Lombok!
P.S. Thanks to Melissa and Rachel at Stylish Occasions Wedding Planning for being the awesome people they are! Always on the money with communication and organization and a smile to boot! It’s a blast to work with people who care as much as you do, about making it the best event possible!”
