Szigethy Recap

This past weekend was awesome, for so many reasons, but the biggest one was that we got to work a wedding for a close personal friend of ours, Steph and JT Szigethy. We knew her back when she was Steph “Mannon”, and she was a regular attendee of our weekly trivia night back in the day at Bube’s Brewery.

She’s the best friend of Melissa Myers, Mike’s sister-in-law, who was also a bridesmaid in the wedding.

So we go way back, and not only is JT one cool dude – with or without long hair – but they were an awesome couple to work with.

Their reception was held at the General Sutter Inn in Lititz, the town Eric grew up in, and it’s only about 15 minutes from where both he and Mike live today. Gigs that are close to home are sometimes few and far between, and the fact that the gig was in a place that we used to frequent quite a bit before we had kids was pretty cool. Bull’s Head is a pub that’s definitely worth checking out, if you haven’t been there, and it just so happens to be stationed within the greater structure that is the General Sutter Inn.

When we met with Steph and JT, they said that they were going for a laid-back, modern-love-song kind of cocktail hour, an upscale, classy dinner, and then an all out party. We delivered that and then some – their crowd was definitely there to party! Steph had picked pinks and warm tones as the colors and the design aesthetic of the reception, and they made some big entrances when it came time to introduce them. She looked wonderful, of course, and when we talked to the bridesmaids they were all really happy that their dresses were more flattering than most other dresses that you may have seen at other weddings! πŸ™‚ So they all looked great!

The neat thing about the ballroom at the Sutter is the way that you can fit a lot of people in it, but it’s not a huge room. This make it easier to fill the room with sound, and makes the whole setting that much more intimate. On top of that, we provided uplighting for them, as well, which gave the room additional ambiance throughout the evening.

Once it was time to party, we kicked those lights over into shuffle mode to make for a great atmosphere on the dance floor, which tended to stay pretty well packed throughout the night!

JT cut the cake with a samaurai sword and drank out of a viking horn cup throughout the evening – he definitely had swagger for days, and was just awesome to us throughout the evening as he partied with the guests. It was really memorable for so many reasons, but seeing him walk out with that sword was epic!

They’re on their honeymoon right now in Jamaica, but I’m sure they’ll come back well rested and recharged after throwing such an amazing party for their closest family and friends. Until next time!
