Yesterday couldn’t have been a more beautiful day for a wedding. We worked with the Dickson couple and had an absolute blast with their friends and family. The evening started off kind of mellow and laid back, then turned into a fun dance party at the end!
Here are a few highlights:
- The Head Table set-up was one Mike and I had never seen before - it was nice round table with the Bride & Groom in the center, Bride’s parents on one side, and the Groom’s parents on the other. Very nice touch!
- Dinner Music started off with some Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr., Michael Buble, Jimmy Durante, Etta James then morphed into an upbeat Motown kind of vibe!
- The guests, family and friends, came from all over! There were people from Texas, North Carolina, Michigan, Canada, Mexico and a bunch of others!
- Working at the Double Tree at Willow Valley is neat because when doing the introductions of the bridal party they come down this large, long and very elegant spiral staircase.
- You know during the reception how all guests start clinking their glasses, then the Bride & Groom kiss? Well at point during a clinking of the glasses - the mother and father of the Bride were the ones who kissed - the crowd went nuts!
- Another nice touch from the Dickson wedding was that during the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance - the couple wanted to invite others to the dance floor during each of their dances. That was very nice!
- We love doing the Anniversary Dance - tonight’s winning couple has been married 61 years!!!! Harry Truman was still president!!!
- Then when we opened up the dance floor, the real fun began! They danced like crazy!!!
- To close the night - we played a last dance then the guests were all invited outside to send the Dickson couple off with some sparkler action! It was great!
- You could not have asked for a more beautiful day for such a beautiful couple!
Thanks to the Hollinger and Dickson families for such a memorable wedding reception!
Oh and Pictures will be up soon!
