Here’s Eric’s recap of the Forrey Wedding from Saturday at Bent Creek!
Bent Creek Country Club Wedding
I made the 6 minute trek from my house to Bent Creek Country Club on September 26, 2015 for the amazing wedding of Jarred and Erica Coulson!
I have to say, in my whole DJ career, I don’t think I’ve ever DJ’ed a wedding that was so close to my house!
Background
I met Jarred and Erica last year at DiMaria Pizza – which is just across the street from the entrance to Bent Creek.
When I met the future Mr. and Mrs. Forrey, I knew instantly they were going to be a fun couple.
They are both so relaxed and easy-going and I was super excited to work with them!
Ceremony
The ceremony was held outdoors at Bent Creek and it was such a wonderful ceremony that included a sand ceremony.
It was a short and sweet ceremony that concluded with Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”.
Cocktail Hour
After the ceremony, guests gathered on the balcony near the ceremony site for some hors d’oeuvres and drinks while listening to some Dean Martin, Stan Getz, and a variety of classy 40s/50s rat pack era tracks.
Introductions!
Once guests made their way into the ballroom, and once I lined up the bridal party, it was time to start the show!
- Parents were introduced to Hall & Oates “You Make My Dreams Come True”
- Bridal Party walked into LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem”
And Jarred and Erica made a grand entrance to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love”!
First Dance
The newlyweds then had their first dance together as Husband and Wife – they danced to Kenny Chesney’s “Me and You”.
Toasts, Blessing, Dinner
We then transitioned into two great toasts by the Matron of Honor and the Best Man, a nice blessing by a family member, and then the delicious dinner!
The food was so good and the service was top-notch.
Musically, guests were treated to some great tunes by Citizen Cope, John Mayer, Bruno Mars, and many others!
Cake Cutting
Jarred and Erica chose to have their cake cutting before their parent dances, so at the tail-end of dinner, we gathered guests around the cake table in the middle of the dance floor. Mr. and Mrs. Forrey cut the cake to “Sugar, Sugar”
Parent Dances
Erica danced with her father to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland (chokes me up every time, by the way) and Jarred and his mother danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.
Anniversary Dance
Before entering party mode, we invited married couples to the dance floor for the Anniversary Dance. The couples danced to:
- “Everlasting Love” Natalie Cole
- “Still the One” Orleans
And the longest-married couple was a couple married for 52 years – they danced to “At Last” by Etta James and they were presented with a mum for fall planting!
Open Dance Floor
This party was nuts. It was bananas. It was insane. It was out of this world amazeballs. I started off with some 80s, oldies, then quickly moved on to newer Top 40.
It was crazy.
Just wow.
I had two encores at the end of the night. It was that nuts. I couldn’t stop.
Party Status: BALLER!
I’m so glad I had the chance to work with Jarred and Erica! Their big day was so beautiful, their choice of venue was excellent, and their party was everything a wedding DJ dreams of! Thanks for a hell of a party and enjoy married life!
Vendor Shoutouts!
I got to work with the talented Zack Wilson and his wife, Hannah of Zack Wilson Photography. It was such a treat to work with them and I found out that they had their wedding at Bent Creek almost 4 years ago to the date! How cool?
